The Bandit II, from Encore Networks, provides a well designed VPN solution for maintaining high performance over a satellite link. The hallmark of the Bandit II is its ability to encrypt data while still being able to accelerate the IP packets.

This feature solves the performance degradation problems associated with implementing traditional IPsec open standards over accelerated satellite links.

This product provides support for IPsec VPN, stateful inspection firewall, IP routing and QoS, and Selective Layer Encryption (SLE). The ability to perform SLE to IPsec tunnel switching is especially crucial, as it allows VSAT Systems the ability to offer both end-to-end on-net and off-net VPN solutions.

Bandit II is installed as any common terrestial based VPN router. It provides users running applications over IP an efficient method, to achieve fast and secure 3DES encryption when using satellite links to access the public Internet.
