VSAT Systems satellite Internet installation

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations require a certified installer for a 2-way satellite Internet service. As a VAR or VNO you are required to manage your own installations. As a Dealer you have the option to manage your own installations, or you can allow your VSAT Systems VAR or VNO Partner to manage that for you. FCC-required training programs are available to the VAR/VNO/Dealer which is issued to you by VSAT Systems to manage end user installations. VSAT Systems conducts periodic installation training classes, either at our Akron, Ohio facility or at your location.

We provide complete assistance to our customers with respect to end user installation. Our national installation network covers every zip code in the continental United States. We have a separate Installation Coordination team here at VSAT Systems to assist you in the installation process. The installation coordinator will be your dedicated point of contact until your equipment is installed, commissioned and tested. To ensure proper polarization during the set-up process, our trained tech-support staff is available to perform cross-polarizations 24/7.

Installation best practices

The technician needs to install the outdoor transmit-and-receive equipment and dish, and run up to 100 feet of cable from the outdoor equipment to the indoor equipment, making a professional penetration of the building exterior if necessary.

The technician will install and adjust the dish and outdoor equipment to obtain the best possible satellite connection. The technician will set up the iDirect indoor modem and will test and verify the connection to the Internet. Depending on the situation, this process takes between four and eight hours.

Configuration is normally done the day following the physical installation, but may be done on the same day. We highly advise the VAR/VNO/Dealer to notify their customer to have their representative who normally maintains the computers or network be present at the time of the configuration. This person does not need to be there for the physical installation.
